Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Altarium ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

Altarium is intended for users aged 9 and older. If you are under 18 years old, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian to ensure they understand and agree to them.

3. Description of Service

Altarium is a mobile application designed to help altar servers (ministrants) track their services, events, and badges. The App provides:

• Service and event tracking (masses, gatherings, and other)
• Badge system
• Optional group features for parishes
• Multi-language support

4. User Responsibilities

When using Altarium, you agree to:

• Use the App for its intended purpose of tracking altar service
• Provide accurate information when using group features
• Respect other users in shared group spaces
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or distribute the App
• Not use the App for any unlawful purpose

5. Account and Data Storage

Altarium creates an anonymous account for you. Your data is stored locally on your device and backed up securely to our cloud servers (Firebase) to facilitate:

• Account recovery in case of device loss (via recovery code)
• Participation in groups (if you choose to join one)
• Calculation of group statistics

You retain ownership of your data and can delete it at any time using the in-app Delete Account feature.

6. In-App Purchases

Altarium offers optional in-app purchases:

• Group Creation: One-time purchase to create a parish group
• Donations: Optional support tiers

All purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or the respective app store's refund policy. Purchased features are tied to your anonymous account and can be restored via account recovery.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy or reproduce the App or its components
• Create derivative works based on the App
• Sell, license, or distribute the App

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Altarium is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Defects will be corrected
• The App will meet your specific requirements

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to group features for users who violate these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
